In this limited engagement, the iconic role of Fanny Brice is reimagined by Lea Michele and Julie Benko in the Broadway production of Funny Girl. Harvey Fierstein is responsible for the revised book based on the original classic by Isobel Lennart. The story is about a Lower East Side girl who dreamed of becoming a stage star. She overcomes the disparaging and discouraging advice of others to eventually realize her dream. At the August Wilson Theatre until September 3rd only. The production is on tour starting Sept 9.
